Karen Dunbar, facilitated by Glasgow Girls Club, joined our young women to create a rap on the theme of loneliness. She invited the young women to share both their positive and negative views of loneliness. They spoke about how it can be extremely debilitating and can negatively impact their healing journey. In contrast, they also spoke about the importance of having time to themselves and learning to feel safe in their own company. This can greatly impact their healing journey in a positive way. It helps to bolster their sense of self, increase confidence in self, and provides space to build healthier boundaries.

Using the words of the young women, Karen created a rap song for them to perform. They recorded this and used it as a background to a gif of images of the Hidden Homelessness posters at their bus stop locations. This was then shown at our conference to a gathering of over 100 which included people from other statutory and third sector services, further getting their message out to a broader audience who are in a position to help people who are currently experiencing homelessness.
